If your experience uses the microphone tag and voice recognition, here are the steps to follow to ensure that it works properly.
On virtual reality headsets
The microphone is supported natively by all headsets.
In a noisy environment, it is possible to add headphones with microphone. Once plugged in, it will be automatically used by the application.
Note: Voice recognition requires an internet connection, make sure the headset is connected: Connect WIFI to Headset
On web browsers
In this case, the microphone support is dependent on the device on which the experience is launched.
If you get this message when starting the experiment, it means that we could not access a microphone
It is still possible to run the experience without a microphone, but the microphone interactions will not work and will be automatically completed.
When the module is first launched
When the module is launched for the first time, the browser will ask for authorization to access the microphone.
You must authorize access to the microphone.
This looks like this:
Note: If this message does not appear, change tabs and come back, it will appear
While the module is running
If you are not sure whether the microphone is authorized by the browser, you can check this at any time.
You can also change the authorization if it was not granted.
Checking the microphone sources
It is possible that your computer does not have a microphone connected, or has several microphones connected.
Make sure that a microphone is connected and that it is the one you want to use. This can be the one on the computer directly.
If you have wireless headsets and microphones connected via Bluetooth, you can try to disconnect them.
It is also possible that the microphone is already being used by another application. In this case, close the tabs and other applications to ensure that it is no longer in use.
On web browsers, you can check which microphone is used as the source for all websites.
Check the settings to make sure it's the right microphone:
Check the device settings on the microphone source
If everything did not work, it is always possible to go to your computer settings to check the microphone sources.
