If your organisation runs its training in a learning management system (LMS), your learners can open Uptale experiences (immersive training content) from there. There are three ways to connect: connected SCORM, which your Environment Administrator turns on in a few clicks, an integration with your LMS (LTI, xAPI or a dedicated connector), set up for your environment, or a simple link to the experience's launch page. This page helps you choose and links to the article for each integration.

Choose how to connect
The right option depends on what your LMS supports, on the devices your learners use, and on what you expect your LMS to receive. For the details of what each option sends to your LMS, see Data tracked & LMS data.
Connected SCORM: set it up yourself
You export each experience as a SCORM package (SCORM 1.2 or 2004) and upload it to your LMS like any other SCORM course. The package stays connected to Uptale: each launch checks with Uptale that the experience can still be played. Your LMS receives the score, the status and the session time.
Packages play in the web browser of your LMS only, not on VR headsets. After each change to the experience, export the package again and replace it in your LMS. See Connected SCORM.
LMS integrations: a direct connection
Your LMS connects directly to your Uptale environment, most often with LTI 1.3, the standard that lets an LMS open external tools. Learners open the experience from the LMS and arrive on its launch page already identified, so they can play it in their browser or on a VR headset with a launch code. They always get the latest published version, and a score goes back to your LMS when their session ends.
Moodle is self-service: your Environment Administrator sets it up, with your Moodle administrator, and Uptale support can help. Every other integration is set up with Uptale, and some are available on request. See Every integration below.
xAPI: results in your learning record store
With xAPI, a standard for tracking learning activity, Uptale records your learners' results in your own learning record store (LRS), which you need to provide. xAPI is set up for your environment with Uptale: contact support@uptale.io. Once it's set up, the experience page shows an xAPI Download button that gives the link (or the package) to add to your LMS. For the ClearXP platform, which uses xAPI, see ClearXP.
A link to the launch page: no setup
Add the link to the experience's launch page as a web link in your LMS. The link is only a shortcut: it doesn't give access. Learners still need access to the experience, for example a Learner role given automatically by your SSO, a role on the workspace, or a public experience. Nothing is sent back to your LMS; results stay in Uptale. See All the ways to give access.

Every integration
Each integration has its own card on your environment's Integration tab, and its own article. To see how the tab works and who sets up each card, see How integrations work.
LMS
- Connected SCORM: any LMS that accepts SCORM courses. Set up by your Environment Administrator.
- LTI 1.3: any LMS that supports LTI 1.3. Set up with Uptale.
- Moodle (LTI): set up by your Environment Administrator, with your Moodle administrator.
- Canvas (LTI): set up with Uptale, on request.
- ClearXP: set up with Uptale, on request.
- GAR: available on request, contact support@uptale.io.
XR platforms
An XR platform distributes and launches VR content on headsets, and may also manage the devices. Uptale lists them under LMS on the Integration tab.
- Inversive (LTI): set up with Uptale.
- Pixo: set up with Uptale, on request.
Your LMS isn't listed? If it supports LTI 1.3, see LTI 1.3; if it accepts SCORM courses, Connected SCORM works without Uptale's help.
Good to know
- Only published experiences can be played, from an LMS as anywhere else. Publish the experience before you export it or share its link. See Publish an experience.
- Scores come from the experience's stars. Set its objectives, stars and success criteria before you add it to your LMS. See Objectives, stars & success score.
- Sessions launched from an LMS don't count towards Uptale programs. A program only counts the sessions launched from the program itself.
- No LMS? Programs are the recommended way to give learners access in Uptale. They are played in a web browser; for VR headsets, give access through the workspace or registered devices. See All the ways to give access.
- Detailed results stay in Uptale: answers, events and session reports are in the experience's reports, whatever the option. See Data tracked & LMS data.
Troubleshooting
I don't see the Integration tab
Only Environment Administrators see it. Ask your organisation's Environment Administrator. See How integrations work.
The SCORM Export button isn't on the experience page
The button only appears once an Environment Administrator has turned on Connected SCORM on the Integration tab. Learners and Reviewers can't export packages. See Connected SCORM.
Learners see an error when they open the experience from the LMS
See the troubleshooting section of the article for your integration, listed in Every integration. For a SCORM package, note the error code shown under the message.
